🌟 Hispanic Heritage Month 🌟
Clayton Public Schools celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) by recognizing the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. This month is an opportunity for our students and families to learn together, honor diverse traditions, and take pride in the voices that strengthen our schools and community.
Today, in accordance with state law, Herma Simmons Elementary School conducted a security drill in the manner that we conduct all emergency drills, with seriousness and with sensitivity to our students and staff. As we head into the season of colds and flu, let’s remember one of the simplest (and most powerful!) ways to stay healthy: handwashing.
👉 Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds—especially before eating, after coughing/sneezing, and after using the restroom.
👉 Handwashing helps prevent the spread of colds, flu, and other germs that can impact learning.
👉 When soap and water aren’t available, hand sanitizer is a great backup.
Together, we can keep our classrooms safe, healthy, and ready for learning. 💙
