As we enter into the upcoming three day weekend, I think it is vital that you all understand why exactly we do not have school on Monday. The third Monday in January, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is a federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an extraordinary American who championed civil rights and peacefully advocated for equality. I would like to encourage all of you to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King by volunteering to serve others and to improve your community. Dr. King said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: what are you doing for others?" Let us continue to be inspired by Dr. King’s words and choose to serve others this upcoming holiday.

Clayton Public School District will be closed on January 20th, in observation and recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
There will be a Freshmen Orientation meeting for all current 8th grade parents and students on January 23rd, 2025 in the Performing Art Center beginning at 6:00 pm with our Elective showcase in the lobby area, followed by the program at 6:30 pm in the Auditorium. Hope to see you all there!
